    Position Summary:  The Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Controller reports to the Manager – MEL Standards and is responsible for assisting the Manager - MEL Standards to ensure that the JetBlue A220/A320/A321 Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishings List (NEF) manuals are in compliance with the latest FAA and manufacturer documents.    The MEL Controller is considered to be supervising, in an executive capacity, the airworthiness of aircraft per 14CFR 65.83 for recent experience requirements. The MEL Controller ensures JetBlue Airways MEL is conforming to “14CFR 121.628 Inoperable instruments and equipment”, and the “Minimum Equipment List preamble” while in the position capacity   Essential Responsibilities:  Assist the Manager – MEL Standards to review and categorize revision requests from the internal customers and the FAA.  Revise the MEL/CDL/NEF documents based on inputs received from internal customers and FAA.  Ensure MEL/CDL/NEF changes meet regulatory requirements that include the Maintenance & Operational functions, Aircraft Flight Manual Limitations, Emergency Procedures or Airworthiness Directives. Ensuring compliance with FAA MMEL, Operations Specifications, ICAO and internal manual standards.  Develop / apply suitable conditions and limitations in the form of placard, maintenance procedures, crew operating procedures and other restrictions as necessary are specified in the MEL/CDL/NEF manuals to ensure that an acceptable level of safety is maintained.  Address internal MEL/CDL revision requests submitted through the MEL/CDL/NEF Request log.  Review all proposed Master MELs issued by the FAA that affect the A220/A320/A321.   Central point of contact for all MEL & CDL internal manual issues and SME for resolving MEL Dispatch considerations when interpretation/clarification is required.  Liaison with the FAA regarding MEL, CDL, & NEF work.  Provide technical support to the MEL review board, when considering the interrelationships between multiple inoperative items, the effect on aircraft operation and crew workload.  Schedule a MEL/CDL Revision Review Board Meeting to review and approve the changes to the MEL/CDL, NEF documents.  Correct any discrepancies noted during the Revision Review Board Meeting.  Create a “Summary of Changes” and “Revision Notice” documenting revisions made to the MEL/CDL/NEF at this revision level and maintain a record of revisions.  Forward MEL/CDL/NEF revision along with the Revision Notice to Corporate Publication. Corporate Publications will forward the revised document(s) to the FAA for review and approval  Correct any discrepancies noted by the FAA, then return the document(s) to the FAA for their final review and approval.  Coordinate MEL/CDL/NEF revision updates with TRAX and Operations support teams.  Other duties as assigned   Minimum Experience and Qualifications:   High School Diploma/General Education Diploma with a Valid Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant license, or Dispatch license OR Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Engineering OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience  Five (5) years Airline or Transport Category Aircraft  Maintain FAA Airman (A&P) ATMS Certification and Training Qualifications through JB  Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)  Must pass a pre-employment drug test  Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located  Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship    Preferred Experience and Qualifications:  Seven (7) years Airline or Transport Category Aircraft  A320/321 Family, A220 Bombardier C Series  Aircraft System Familiarization  Technical Writing, Typing/ Word Processing  Experience in the following software products; Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat (professional version)  Knowledge of XML applications desirable  Strong attention to detail and written and verbal communications skills    Crewmember Expectations:  Regular attendance and punctuality  Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice  Able to maintain a professional appearance  When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft  Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun  Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System  Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards  Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))  Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls  Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities  The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.   Equipment:  Computer and other office equipment  Occasionally evaluate Minimum Equipment List (MEL/CDL/NEF) procedures on aircraft or simulator.    Work Environment:  Traditional office environment    Physical Effort:   Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)    Compensation:  The base pay range for this position is between $88,000.00 and $132,000.00 per year.
